Where the body's electrical field meets genuine stillness. Reiki and Biofield Tuning on the Tasman Peninsula.

An hour that's just for you.
No belief required. No drive to Hobart.

01 · The practice

If you've felt the slow accumulation of too much — too much pace, too much noise, too much time spent doing and not enough spent simply being — you're not imagining it. And you're not alone.

Terra Lume is a small, intentionally held complementary wellbeing practice on the Tasman Peninsula. Reiki sessions and Biofield Tuning practice sessions — offered for people who are ready to give themselves an hour of genuine stillness.

Held by Frederica Dillon. Grounded in earth. Lit from within.

Frederica Dillon seated in the treatment space at Terra Lume, Eaglehawk Neck — Reiki practitioner and Biofield Tuning student.

02 · About Frederica

Held by a grounded,
considered practitioner.

I'm Frederica — Reiki practitioner, Biofield Tuning practitioner-in-training, and communications and marketing professional based on the Tasman Peninsula in Southern Tasmania.

I spent years working in communications and marketing — genuinely good at it, genuinely drained by it. Not because the work wasn't interesting. Because the culture of it asked me to be a smaller, more contained version of myself for the hours that mattered most.

So I studied everything that countered that. Art. Reiki. Intuitive painting. Yoga. Ontological coaching through the Newfield Institute. Meditation. Sound healing. Feminine embodiment. Internal Family Systems. Essential oils. Energy practices. I built an entire inner world in the hours the day job didn't own.

Eventually that wasn't enough.

Not because the practices weren't working — they were. But because living in two halves isn't living whole. So I stopped. Rebuilt. Returned to the Tasman Peninsula and built a life that doesn't require me to heal on weekends from what I do Monday to Friday.

I still run my marketing consultancy. I still do that work — because I'm good at it and I want to. But I do it on my own terms, alongside this practice, alongside deepening study, alongside the work of actually living the way I want to live. We don't have to choose between a sharp professional mind and an expanded inner life. I'm proof of that.

Terra Lume is where I bring all of it — the rigour, the study, the years of quiet practice — into service for people who are ready to give themselves an hour of genuine stillness.

I'm completing my Biofield Tuning certification through BioSona — the training lineage developed directly from Eileen Day McKusick's two decades of clinical research into the body's bioelectric field. It's a rigorous, methodical training, and I came to it because the depth of the work demanded it.

This work is established internationally and virtually unknown locally. That gap is exactly why Terra Lume exists.

Sessions are held at Eaglehawk Neck Hall on the Arthur Highway — about an hour from Hobart, at the edge of the Tasman Peninsula.

I'm a Splenic Projector in Human Design. The short version: I read energy before I read words, and I pay close attention. You'll feel that in the room.

03 · Reiki

What is
Reiki?

If you've spent years running fast and rarely stopping — Reiki might be the simplest and most effective thing you can do for yourself.

The word Reiki is Japanese — formed from two characters: rei, meaning universal or spiritual, and ki, meaning life force or vital energy. Together they describe the practice: a working with the subtle energy that practitioners believe animates all living things.

Reiki was developed in the early twentieth century by Mikao Usui, a Japanese teacher and practitioner, following a period of intensive spiritual practice and retreat on Mount Kurama. From Japan, the practice travelled — through Hawayo Takata's lineage into the West in the mid-twentieth century, and from there across the world. Today it is one of the most widely practised complementary modalities in existence.

In a session, the practitioner places their hands on or near the body, moving through a sequence of positions — or following intuitive guidance about where to spend time. Practitioners describe themselves as a conduit: holding space and allowing energy to move in whatever way is needed. The session itself is quiet and still.

The recipient's experience is always their own. Some people notice warmth or gentle pulsing beneath the practitioner's hands; others experience a deep stillness or sense of ease. Some drift close to sleep; others find their mind wandering freely, the way it does in the moments before sleep arrives. Some notice very little in the session itself but feel unusually rested or reflective in the days that follow. None of these responses is more correct than another.

An hour in a Reiki session is an hour of complete permission to stop.

Reiki is not a medical treatment. It is a complementary practice — something to receive alongside your existing health care, not in place of it.

Reiki Session

One hour of unhurried,
well-held attention.

You'll arrive, settle in, and have a brief conversation about what you'd like from the session. Then you'll rest, fully clothed, on a treatment table. The practitioner works with light touch — or with hands held just above the body, if you prefer.

A preparation guide is sent one to two days beforehand — so you arrive ready, not rushed. Aftercare notes follow that evening or the next morning. Two days later, Frederica will check in.

No belief is required. No prior experience is necessary. You arrive, you rest, fully clothed — that's all.

04 · Biofield Tuning

What is
Biofield Tuning?

If you've ever felt like something is sitting just beneath the surface — something you can't quite name, can't quite shift — Biofield Tuning works at exactly that level. It isn't mysticism. It's a sound-based practice built on two decades of clinical research into the body's bioelectric field.

Biofield Tuning is a sound-based practice developed by researcher and practitioner Eileen Day McKusick over more than two decades of clinical observation.

The term biofield refers to the body's electrical system in its entirety — the electrical current that runs through the body and the magnetic field that surrounds it. Biofield Tuning works directly with this system, which McKusick describes as inextricably connected with the conscious and subconscious mind, including memory and emotional experience.

During a session, a practitioner activates a tuning fork and works slowly through the biofield — the field surrounding the body and extending beyond it, up to five to six feet — beginning from several feet away. The practitioner listens for changes in the sound of the fork and feels for areas of turbulence or resistance. When turbulence is identified, the steady, coherent frequency of the fork is held in that area.

Biofield Tuning is not a medical treatment and is not intended to diagnose, treat or cure any medical condition or psychological disorder.

Practice sessions

An early invitation
— and a genuine opportunity.

Biofield Tuning is coming to the Tasman Peninsula — and these sessions are where it begins.

Frederica is completing her advanced Biofield Tuning certification through BioSona, one of the world's leading training bodies in this field. As part of that training, a small number of supervised practice sessions are being offered — at no charge — to people who are ready to be among the first in Tasmania to experience this work.

These are practitioner-development sessions, held with the same reverence, preparation and follow-through as a full professional session: booking, intake, screening, preparation guide, aftercare, and a follow-up check-in.

If you've been curious about Biofield Tuning — wondering whether it's for someone like you — this is a genuinely good moment to find out.

If you're open to being part of a small founding cohort, we'd love to hear from you.

Not everyone is eligible for Biofield Tuning — please read the suitability section below before expressing interest.

Distance practice sessions may also be available — enquire to find out.

05 · What to expect

From the moment you walk in, to the moment you leave.

i.

Before you arrive

A preparation guide arrives one to two days beforehand — what to wear, how to reach the hall, parking, and a few simple suggestions for arriving feeling settled rather than rushed.

ii.

Getting here

Eaglehawk Neck Hall is on the Arthur Highway — approximately one hour from Hobart. Parking is at the hall. Please arrive a few minutes early; there's no need to rush.

iii.

The conversation

Before the session, Frederica will sit down with you briefly, ask what you'd like from the hour and check whether there's anything she should know.

iv.

The Reiki session

You'll rest, fully clothed, on a treatment table. The practitioner works with light touch, or with hands held just above the body if you prefer — let Frederica know at any point.

v.

The Biofield Tuning session

You'll remain fully clothed. Tuning forks are activated and worked near and around the body, and through the space surrounding it — beginning from several feet away and moving inward. The session is generally quiet and still.

vi.

After the session

Take a few minutes at the end before you drive home. That evening or the next morning, you'll receive aftercare notes. Two days later, Frederica will check in.

06 · Suitability

A few gentle notes
before booking.

Reiki

A gentle practice, suitable for most.

Reiki is a gentle practice considered appropriate for most people.

No belief is required. No prior experience is necessary. You arrive, you rest, fully clothed — that's all.

If you have a current health condition, are pregnant, or are undergoing medical treatment, please mention this when you book. The intake form will ask a few straightforward questions, and Frederica will be in touch if there is anything to discuss before confirming your appointment.

If you're unsure whether Reiki is appropriate for you, please consult your medical professional before booking.

Biofield Tuning practice sessions

A cautious screening policy.

Biofield Tuning is not suitable for everyone. Practice sessions are currently not available for people who:

  • 01Have active cancer or are currently receiving cancer treatment.
  • 02Have an acute, advanced, unstable or terminal illness.
  • 03Have a pacemaker or any implanted electrical medical device — including an implanted medication pump or neural implant.
  • 04Are currently pregnant.
  • 05Have experienced a significant concussion or head injury in the past three months.
  • 06Experience uncontrolled seizures.

A previous cancer diagnosis now in remission does not automatically exclude you, but must be disclosed before booking. Please disclose any significant condition, implanted device, recent injury, or current specialist treatment before confirming your appointment.

07 · Aftercare

You gave yourself an hour.

That matters — and your body knows it. After your session, it's common to feel a range of things: deeply rested, reflective, lighter, or simply quiet. Some people notice changes in the hours or days that follow; others feel much the same as usual. Both are completely normal.

A few simple suggestions

  • Drink plenty of water in the 24–48 hours afterwards.
  • Rest where you can.
  • Avoid alcohol or stimulants if you're feeling particularly sensitive.
  • Be gentle with yourself — avoid overscheduling the rest of the day.
  • If anything surprises or concerns you in the days following, please get in touch.

If you experience significant physical or emotional symptoms after your session, please consult your medical professional. Terra Lume services are complementary wellbeing practices. They do not diagnose, treat or cure medical conditions and are not a substitute for medical or psychological care.
